Chicago, Illinois Mar 16, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - On its 40th anniversary, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman Man-hee Lee, hereinafter referred to as Shincheonji Church of Jesus), announced the transition process from its founding 40 years ago to the present. This has been achieved by reflecting on the progress in its mission to present a new understanding to the work of God's promise in the book of Revelation.
According to the '40th Anniversary Foundation History Report', Shincheonji Church of Jesus was founded on March 14, 1984. At the time of its foundation, it did not have a proper church building and held services outdoors, and finally in June of that year a small first temple was established in Bisan-dong, in the Republic of Korea.
In September of the same year, the "Shincheonji Constitution" was announced, and the following year, in 1985, they began a nationwide tour of Revelation seminars.
On March 14, 1995, the 11th anniversary of its foundation, organizing the formation of the 12 tribes according to the model of heaven recorded in the Bible was completed. In 1999, it moved its headquarters and temple to Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do Province, a place where Shincheonji declared the reality of the Book of Revelation was fulfilled, and this is where its Headquarters remains today.
The Zion Christian Mission Center, a free Bible education institution of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, began in Seoul's Sadang Center in 1990 and has expanded globally including the USA. It educates on not only the prophecies of the Bible but also their fulfilled realities including Revelation in less than 1 year! The Zion Christian Mission Center held its first graduation ceremony in 1991, and in their 110th ceremony in 2019, it had produced 103,764 graduates, marking its first '100,000 graduation'. In the following years, 2022 and 2023, it achieved unprecedented success with over 100,000 new members each year, with 106,186 and 108,084 graduates, respectively.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, experiencing explosive growth both domestically and internationally, began its overseas missions in 1993. In 2012, it held its first Shincheonji Bible seminar overseas.
Even during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, when borders of many countries were closed, the organization held online Bible seminars. This prompted a surge of exchange requests from other denominations eager to learn the word, leading to the signing of Word exchange MOUs with 443 domestic churches and 9,462 churches in 77 countries overseas. Notably, 1,382 churches in 38 globally have changed their signboards to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, as a way to show unity and acceptance of Shincheonjis teachings as the truth.
In February last year, a religious leaders exchange program was initiated in Korea, garnering positive responses from about 80 religious leaders from 10 different denominations around the world. The Shincheonji Church of Jesus has continuously made efforts not only in spreading the Word but also in practicing the teachings of peace by Jesus.
